Cooling Centers Open In Bremen Township Ahead Of Heat Wave
Oak Forest officials released updated cooling center information ahead of expected heat indexes that could reach 100 degrees this week.
OAK FOREST, IL — The Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is notifying residents about area cooling centers that will be open for the public during the extreme heat wave that is expected to hit the area later this week.
The National Weather Service is predicting that temperatures will near 100 degrees Thursday and last through Saturday — and with the heat index thrown in, it could feel as hot as 110 degrees in most areas.
Bremen Township has two community centers open where people can go to seek relief from the hot weather.
