Cops Have 'Not Ruled Out' Connection Between 2 Shootings: Police

A spokeswoman for the City of Oak Forest told Patch both people who were shot Wednesday night have been released from the hospital.

OAK FOREST, IL — Police are still investigating two shootings which took place within one night in Oak Forest last week and have not ruled out the possibility both cases could be connected, a spokeswoman for the department told Patch.

On Wednesday night, two people were shot and injured at around 7 p.m. while driving in the 16800 block of Cicero Avenue. Officials said both people have since been released from the hospital but told police they were shot by someone in a dark-colored SUV.

Three hours later, an Oak Forest home was shot several times, according to authorities. The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. on the 15200 block of Las Robles Street. No one was injured in the shooting though shell casings were found in the front of the house.

Residents in the area reported seeing a dark-colored Dodge Charger speeding away from the block of the shooting.

"The police department has not ruled out any connection at this time," said Chrissy Maher, communications director for the city, in an email.
