Cops Won't Respond To 'Low-Level' Crimes Amid Coronavirus Crisis
Oak Forest police said they won't respond to minor incidents to protect their officers from the coronavirus spread.

OAK FOREST, IL — Police in Oak Forest are the latest to say they won't send a police officer to take "low-level" incident reports amid the worldwide coronavirus outbreak. This is being done in "an effort to protect their staff from the coronavirus," according to a news release.
Police will follow up these incidents with a phone call though, Oak Forest Police Chief Tim Kristin said. Officers will still be sent if there is a crime in progress or a serious offense.
The news release did not state which crimes would be considered serious and which ones will not be.
