Curse Words Scratched into Car

Police were called to the 15300 block of Knox Avenue after a victim reported damage to their car. At the scene, police spoke with the victim, who said that sometime over the last two weeks an unknown suspect(s) scratched two expletives into the side of their car.

The victim said they couldn't think of anyone who would want to do this.

MONDAY, NOV. 12

Break-up Leads to Break In

Police responded to a criminal damage to vehicle and criminal damage to property call in the 5000 block of 159^th Street, after a victim said his ex-girlfriend broke into his apartment and slashed his car's tires.

The victim said that he and the ex got into a heated argument earlier in the day and that she threatened to break into his apartment and trash it if he left. The victim said that he left anyways. He was later called by his friend, who told the victim that his apartment was in shambles and that he should come home.

The victim came home and spoke with a neighbor, who said they saw the ex-girlfriend break into the apartment. Police tried to make contact with the ex, but her phone was shut off and the victim did not know another way to contact her.

SUNDAY, NOV. 11

Lost Phone, There's an App for That

Police were called to Jack Gibbons Gardens, 14700 Oak Park Avenue, after a victim reported his iPhone 4 being stolen.

At the scene, the victim told police that he must have set the phone down and somebody picked it up and walked off with it. The victim told officers that the phone is valued at $500.

SATURDAY, NOV. 10

He Punched, She Punched

Dontrelle L. Williams, 19, of the 4800 block of W. 157^th Street, was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property, following an altercation with his girlfriend.

Police arrived at a home in the 4800 block of W. 157^th Street after a victim called officers and reported that Williams hit her. At the scene, officers spoke with the victim, who said Williams hit her because she had another man's phone number in her cell phone. She said this caused Williams to punch her in the face, breaking her glasses. She also said he threw her phone, breaking it as well.

Williams told officers that the pair did fight over a number in the victim's cell phone, but that he only hit her because she punched him first.

Williams was taken to the Oak Forest Police Department and charged. He was placed in a holding cell to await transport to a bond hearing.

I Came Home and My Stuff Was Gone

A Oak Forest resident called police to their home in the 5600 block of Victoria Drive, reporting that more than $300 worth of items were removed from their home.

The victim told police that he was granted a judge's order to move back into his home on Nov. 9, at which point he came home and found several items missing. The victim showed officers pictures he had a friend take prior to his return home, the pictures showed items that were once in the home, but no longer were.

The victim said a neighbor told him a moving truck came by the house while he the victim was not home.

Police told the victim to submit a full list of missing items and report the matter to his attorney as well.
