Accused Drunk Driver's Ride Covered in Egg

Luke J. Bronson, 20, of the 15000 block of S. Avers Avenue, was issued a citation for underage consumption of alcohol, following a stop in the 14900 block of S. Central Park Avenue.

While on the patrol, officers saw a vehicle covered in eggs that appeared to be fresh. Officers stopped and spoke with Bronson, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle. Bronson said the egging happened a few days prior and had not had a chance to clean the vehicle yet.

While speaking with Bronson, officers noted a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Bronson admitted to drinking at his home earlier in the night.

Police took Bronson into custody and transported him to the Midlothian Police Station, where he blew a .114. He was issued a citation and given a court date of March 4.

TUESDAY, Jan. 22

That's Way Too Fast

James A. Williams, 39, of the 14300 block of S. Woodlawn Avenue, Dolton, was charged with reckless driving, speeding more than 40 mph over the posted limit and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, following a traffic stop in the 14700 block of S. Millard Avenue.

While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle traveling westbound on 147^th Street at a high rate of speed. Officers began following the car and using a radar gun, clocked the car going 76 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Police curbed the car and took Williams into custody, transporting him to the Midlothian Police Station. He was released on bond, pending a Feb. 26 court date at the Markham Courthouse.

Valeria A. Hasier, 41, of the 14800 block of S. Kilpatrick Avenue, was cited for disorderly conduct, following an incident in the 15300 block of S. Harding Avenue.

Hasier's boyfriend called police, and said she was acting in an irrational manner. At the home, police spoke with the boyfriend, who said the couple had been out drinking and when they arrived at his home, the two began arguing and Hasier began yelling at him.

Hasier told officers that she was in the bedroom and when she came into the living room, she found the boyfriend watching a pornographic movie, which upset her, leading to the fight. Hasier then began yelling at officers and the boyfriend, again, according to the report.

While speaking with the couple, officers noted 'deplorable conditions' inside the home, according to the report. Due to the conditions, officers called a building inspector to assess the home.

The home inspector viewed the home and began speaking with the boyfriend about the conditions, but Hasier kept yelling and interrupting the conversation, according to the report. The home inspector then asked to have Hasier detained for disorderly conduct so that he could finish the conversation with the boyfriend.

Hasier was taken to the police station, where she began to bang her head on the wall and stated she wanted to kill herself. She was taken to South Suburban Hospital for a mental evaluation and issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

My TV is Gone

Police were called to a home in the 14400 block of S. Springfield Avenue, after a resident reproted a home burglary.

At the house, police spoke with the victim, who said he had taken his father to the veterans' hospital that morning and when he returned that afternoon, he noticed his television was missing from the guest bedroom.

Police inspected the home, but could not find any signs of forced entry.
