COVID-19 Case Positivity Increases In Oak Forest: CCDPH
Nearly 63 percent of the city has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health

OAK FOREST, IL — The City of Oak Forest has had a recent increase in COVID-19 positivity, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.
The health department's latest statistics on the virus show that 36 cases have been recorded in the city within this past week. According to the department, the percent change in confirmed cases in past 14 days is 32 percent in Oak Forest. Since the start of the pandemic, the city has had a total of 3,580 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the department reports.
More than half of the city has been inoculated with both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. According to the health department, 17,530, or nearly 63 percent of Oak Forest residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine. People who are fully vaccinated with two doses include 14,538 or 52 percent of Oak Forest residents. Over 27 thousand people live in Oak Forest, Census data shows.

Cook County in general has a 1.9 percent positivity rate. Since the start of the pandemic, 287,252 Cook County residents have tested positive for the virus, and 4,782 have died. The department reports that the county currently has a substantial community transmission level.
