Delta Academy Black History Month Celebration

The event was a fitting conclusion to a month of education, creativity, and celebration.

On February 27th, Delta Academy concluded its month-long Black History Month celebration with a powerful and inspiring event. Throughout February, students and staff engaged in meaningful discussions, decorated the building, and honored Black history in their classrooms.

For the final event, 23 students elected to attend the presentation, which featured student-led spoken word performances by Andre Miller, Ashley Ortiz, Jaylan Walker, and Angela Riedy.

The highlight of the event was guest speaker Kevin Fair, CEO and Founder of I Play Games! A Chicago native, fair shared his journey of perseverance, entrepreneurship, and his impact on the gaming industry.

Bremen High School District 228 is located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and serves the communities of Midlothian, Posen, Tinley Park, Markham, Hazel Crest, Country Club Hills and Oak Forest. District 228 serves over 5,000 students and employs 800 full and part-time staff members. Bremen High School, in Midlothian, opened its doors to students in September of 1953.
