OAK FOREST, IL — As the school year winds down, seniors at the Bremen school district have plenty to be proud about. Take a look at why they're celebrating more than just never stepping foot into high school again, and see how your neighborhood schools are stacking up.

Bremen High School:

  • 323 graduates.
  • Valedictorian: Jessica Jimenez.
  • Salutatorian: Jala Blackwell.
  • 75 percent of students report that they will be going to college next year.

Hillcrest High School:

  • 64 percent of students say they will be attending college.
  • Seven students are heading into the U.S. military.
  • 15 students report they are going into trade school.
  • The senior class earned more than $3.7 million in scholarship money.
  • Notable colleges that accepted Hillcrest students include: Vanderbilt, Howard, University of Illinois, Loyola, Boston College and Spellman.
  • Valedictorian: Alonso Arostegui. Arostegui also scored a 1500 on his SAT!
  • Salutatorian: Melodie Slaughter.

Oak Forest High School:

  • 311 graduates.
  • Valedictorian: Justin Meline.
  • Salutatorian: Payton Nielsen.
  • More than 90 percent of graduates have post-secondary plans and will be going on to college, military, trade school or directly into employment.
  • Seniors were awarded $10.6 million in scholarship money -- and four are Chick Evans Scholars.
  • Notable colleges where Oak Forest students have been accepted include: Notre Dame, U of I, Ohio State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, North Carolina A&T State University, Norwich University and Historically Black Colleges.

Tinley Park High School:

  • 265 graduates.
  • Valedictorian: Sean Ford.
  • Salutatorian: Caitlyn Sanders.
  • About 80 percent of its students say they are going on to college.
  • Graduating senior's career paths include: chemical engineering, physics, accounting, actuarial sciences, education and the military.
  • At least five students graduated early, including: Alexandria Hansen, Farah Adi, Demitria DePyper, Lindsey Dunning and Renad Damooni.
