Suspect May Have Been Injured In Shootout Outside Walmart: FBI
The FBI initially said no one was hurt in the incident at a Country Club Hills Walmart Monday; they now believe a suspect was shot.
COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, IL β Gunfire was exchanged Monday in what Country Club Hills Police say was an attempted armed robbery of an armored truck, and the FBI is now saying a suspect may have been injured.
Police were called just before 10:30 a.m. to Walmart, 4005 W. 167th St., for a report of an active shooter. Responding officers learned the incident was an attempted robbery of a Loomis armored truck servicing the store, Country Club Hills police said in a release.
Shots were fired by armored truck personnel, store security personnel and the unknown offenders, police said. Authorities initially said no injuries were reported, but a suspect is now believed to have been shot, the FBI said.

The offenders ultimately fled in a secondary vehicle, police said.
FBI Public Affairs Officer Siobhan Johnson said there was no ongoing threat to the public. The incident is an ongoing investigation and is being conducted with the assistance of the FBI, police said.

Anybody with information regarding the incident is asked to please contact Country Club Hills Police Department at 708-798-3191 or the Chicago FBI Office at 312-421-6700. The FBI offers a $20,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
Police were seen at the store just after 11 a.m.
News chopper footage from ABC7 showed an armored truck and a silver sedan cordoned off by police tape. Evidence markers were also seen around the vehicles.
FBI agents were also at the scene earlier at a bank robbery at US Bank, 4350 Lincoln Highway, in Matteson earlier Monday, Johnson said. Shots were fired and injuries were reported in that incident, Johnson said.
It remains unclear if the two incidents are related.
