Former Oak Forest Alderman Paul Wechet Dies: City Officials

According to Oak Forest officials, the former 7th Ward alderman died after over 20 years in public service to the city.

OAK FOREST, IL — Former Oak Forest Alderman Paul Wechet has died, according to Oak Forest officials.

Wechet was alderman of the 7th Ward from 1987 to 2011. He worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce, Cable Television Commission and the Senior Citizens' Commission.

In 2011, Wechet was the grand marshal at Oak Forest's Fleadh family parade. Before he began his tenure as alderman, he worked as a teacher. After, he pursued a career in television.
