Gaelic Park's Heritage And Harvest Day Set For September 15
The event is free and family-friendly, with games and activities for children and adults.
OAK FOREST, IL — Chicago Gaelic Park will host its annual Heritage & Harvest Day on Sunday, Sept. 15, starting at 12 p.m.
The free event is family-oriented, with activities for kids and adults. Kids’ games include a straw pillow fight, candy in the straw scramble, three-legged race, sack race, dizzy stick race, barrel race, water balloon toss, tug of war, and Gaelic Sports Skills Test.
Other highlights of the day will include a display of antique tractors, as well as traditional Irish music and dancing. A display of the national games of Ireland, hurling and football, will take place as youth athletes showcase their talent. Gerry Haughey will perform Irish tunes from 1 to 3 p.m.
