Gallery: Buzz Cuts for All at Gaelic Park St. Baldrick's

More than 65 people, along with friends, family and supporters, gathered at Gaelic Park on Saturday, March 9, to take part in a St. Baldrick's Day event in conjunction with the Oak Forest Fleadh.

The shavees were called up in groups of three to have their heads buzzed to the scalp in solitary with children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Shavees in attendee raise more than $22,000 for the event, which will be donated to children's cancer research.

Among those who sat under the clippers were Oak Forest Police Department dispatcher Amy Henion, a group of Orland School District 135 students calling themselves 'The Band of Baldies,' and one intrepid traveler from Minnesota, Kelsey Scott, who was part of a team made up of friends calling themselves 'Hair of the Dog.'
