Get Involved: Oak Forest Street Art Returns With a Twist
Applications are due this week for those interested in being part of the city's second public art project.

Building on the success of Opportunity Knocks — the City of Oak Forest's first public art project — the Street Art Commission is bringing its kaleidoscope of doors back to 159th and Cicero Avenue with a new twist.
This year, artists will be recreating their favorite American television shows. Although there are guidelines to follow and all concepts must be approved, artists are free to recreate a scene from a show; feature a popular character; or highlight the best shows of a particular decade, officials have said. The project can also include events like Monday Night Football or the Summer Olympics.
City officials encourage those interested in participating in this year’s public art project to download and return their applications to dwolf@oak-forest.org by the looming May 6 deadline.

Artists can begin work once their concepts are approved by the commission. The doors will make their debut in mid-June and remain up throughout the summer.
