'I Am An American Day' Parade Back In Oak Forest This September

OAK FOREST, IL — The Oak Forest Veterans Commission is hosting its annual "I Am An American Day" parade, once again this September.

The parade will be held Sept. 5 on Central Avenue, from 151st to 156th Streets, beginning at 11 a.m. Local schools, churches, business and community groups are all invited to show their American pride, and take part in the parade.

The city is encouraging homeowners located on Central Avenue to decorate their homes and fences for the parade, getting in the American spirit.

Registration forms will be available in the near future, but the city encourages residents and participants to start planning out how they will decorate bikes, wagons, scooters — from now.
