Longtime Oak Forest Resident Dies at 101

Alice Krueger, a woman who's lived in her Oak Forest farm home since the 1920s, died Monday.

Centenarian Alice Krueger died at the age of 101 on Monday, June 3.

Since the 1920s, Krueger has lived at her Oak Forest home near 147th Street and Oak Park Avenue. During its heyday, the five-acre property housed hundreds of chickens, among other livestock—not to mention Kreuger's five sons. Krueger personally pasteurized her own milk, churned her own butter and sold both locally.

She was also the oldest member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tinley Park
