Man Forced To Take Out Cash From Oak Forest ATM After Crash: Cops

Two Markham men are accused of pressuring the victim into withdrawing money following an intentional accident, Oak Forest police say.

OAK FOREST, IL — Two Markham men are accused of forcing a Dolton man to drive to an Oak Forest bank and withdraw cash from an ATM following an intentional fender bender last week, according to the Daily Southtown. Patrick Brown, 24, and Dekarius Pryce, 23, were charged with robbery, vehicular invasion and unlawful restraint in the incident, and they were ordered held without bail Saturday.

Oak Forest police have identified a third person in the April 12 incident, the report stated. That suspect, however, has not been taken into custody, the report added.

According to police, Brown, Pryce and the third suspect hit the 21-year-old victim's car in Markham, something that was allegedly done on purpose, the report stated. Although no weapon was brandished, the victim told police he was coerced into driving to the Chase Bank in the 5500 block of West 159th Street and forced to withdraw an undisclosed amount of money, the report added.
