Man's Body Found At Forest Preserve In Oak Forest: Forest Preserve PD

OAK FOREST, IL — The body of a man was found in an Oak Forest forest preserve Sunday, prompting officials to close the area that afternoon.

The body of the 45-year-old man was discovered in Carlson Springs Woods at 143rd near Oak Park Avenue just before 1 p.m. Sunday. Forest Preserves of Cook County Police are leading the death investigation.

Initial indication is that there was no threat to public safety, said Communications Manager Stacina Stagner.

The body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, who will release a final determination on cause of death.
