UPDATED: More Candidates Lined Up For Gaelic Park Meet And Greet

The event will be held Thursday, Feb. 20. Candidates for roles in Oak Forest and Bremen Township will be in attendance.

OAK FOREST, IL β€” The Oak Forest-Crestwood Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate meet-and-greet event at Chicago Gaelic Park.

Set for Thursday, Feb. 20, the event aims to give voters a chance to meet participating candidates, ask questions, and hear their visions for the community. The event will feature candidate introductions, and one on one interaction and networking with the candidates.

"Meet the Candidate Night is a valuable opportunity for voters to make informed decisions by engaging directly with those seeking to represent them," said Kim Malecky-Iles, Executive Director of the Oak Forest-Crestwood Area Chamber. "We encourage everyone in the community to attend and participate in this important civic event."

The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

  • Donald Guisinger, Mayoral Candidate
  • Jim Hortsman, Mayoral Candidate
  • Ken Keeler, Mayoral Candidate
  • Nicole Tormey, City Clerk Candidate, Incumbent
  • Joe McCarthy, 2nd Ward Alderman, Unopposed

BREMEN TOWNSHIP

  • Vernard Alsberry, Supervisor Candidate
  • Willies Jones, Assessor, Incumbent
  • Carolyn Carter, Trustee, Incumbent
  • Kim Bond, Trustee

Some school district board candidates may also be in attendance, said Chamber Executive Director Kim Malecky-Iles.

Event Details

Location: Chicago Gaelic Park, 6119 147th St.

  • 6:30 to 7 p.m.: Networking
  • 7 to 7:30: Candidate Presentations
  • 7:30 to 8:30: Mix and mingle with the candidates, allowing for one on one interaction and ability to ask questions

Light appetizers will be served, and a cash bar will be available.
