Motorcyclist, 27, Killed In Crash Friday: Cook County Sheriff

The crash happened near 159th Street and Ridgeland Avenue Friday afternoon, the Sheriff's office said.

OAK FOREST, IL. β€” A 27-year-old motorcyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon near 159th and Ridgeland Avenue, Cook County Sheriff's Police said Friday evening.

At approximately 1:02 p.m. Friday, sheriff's police responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and West 159th Street. Responding officers learned a 27-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on 159th Street, when a vehicle traveling westbound crossed into his lane and struck him.

The motorcyclist suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead while being transported by ambulance to a local hospital. His identity was not yet disclosed as of 7:15 p.m.

One other individual was transported with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, as well.
