4 Shot, 2 In Critical Condition After Domestic Incident: Oak Forest PD

One person was in custody after the shooting in the 5500 block of Babette Court Sunday evening.

OAK FOREST, IL — Four people were shot in a domestic incident Sunday evening in Oak Forest, police said. Two victims are in critical condition, and two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police have a suspect in custody.

Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, Oak Forest Police were called to the 5500 block of Babette Court for a report of shots fired. Officers found three people with gunshot wounds at the scene, according to police.

Two of the victims found at the scene are reportedly in critical condition as of late Sunday night, officials said. A third sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was released from an area hospital after receiving treatment, according to Oak Forest Police Chief Jason Reid.

While police were at the scene, they learned information about a vehicle possibly linked to the incident. Responding Oak Forest police found that vehicle in the 5900 block of 159th Street and were able to stop it, according to Reid.

One occupant of the vehicle was found to have a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The other occupant was detained, police said.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and say there is no threat to the public.
