New $42K Oak Forest City Hall Sign Will Spotlight Local Causes

A sign expected to begin shining this summer was approved this past week at an Oak Forest City Council meeting.

City Hall will soon have a bright and shiny $42,000 LED message board to keep residents in the know.

The 7-foot-tall sign will be built outside the municipal center at 15440 S. Central Ave. in Oak Forest. Alderman gave the item a 7-0 green light at their council meeting this past Tuesday, reports The Chicago Tribune, and the project's funding is coming from the Oak Forest Service Corp.

The Tribune article says residents should expect a, "3-by-8-foot matrix board that will be capable of including images along with its messages."

Mayor Henry Kuspa says the sign will be an improvement over the current, unlit message board outside the city center, which passersby are unable to read after nightfall.

The new sign is expected to be in place this summer, the story says.
