Nominations Open For Oak Forest Landscaping, Beautification Award
The Forest In Bloom award is given to businesses and homes that "take the extra step" to beautify their lawns and property, officials said.
OAK FOREST, IL — Nominations are open for the 2022 Forest In Bloom award, which honors Oak Forest businesses and residents who keep their property beautiful through landscaping, city officials said.
All home and business owners are welcome to apply before July 6. The award is then decided on a point system which assigns value to lawn maintenance, use of accessories and landscaping. Backyards are not considered for the contest.
A nominee has to earn 25 "points" in order to receive the designation. Points are given for clean lawns, bushes or flower beds and accessories such as fountains and statues.

Businesses and homeowners can nominate themselves. City officials said the annual award encourages "pride in ownership."
