Oak Fest 2020 Canceled Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

Organizers of the popular summer festival in Oak Forest have made an early decision to cancel the 2020 event due to the coronavirus outbreak

OAK FOREST, IL — Oak Fest 2020, planned for July, has already been canceled. The popular summer festival held annually around the Fourth of July holiday was originally set to run from July 1 until July 5 at their grounds at 159th and Central. One of the largest annual gatherings in Oak Forest and the south suburbs, the cancellation was made due to continued concerns over the outbreak of the new coronavirus.

The OakFest Commission said in a statement that it is "with deep disappointment" that the festival has been canceled. The decision was made concerning "public health considerations that we all face with the COVID-19 outbreak."

Oak Fest 2020 would have been the 33rd annual celebration.
