Oak Forest Business Hit By Gunfire In Weekend Shooting: Police

According to police, no injuries were reported but officers did find shell casings outside the business Saturday morning.

OAK FOREST, IL β€” An Oak Forest business was hit by gunfire early Saturday morning, police told Patch.

According to officials, police were called the the 5400 block of 159th Street at 2:38 a.m. after a business's alarm was activated. A resident on the block also called police to report the sound of gunshots at that time as well, authorities said.

When police arrived, they found multiple shell casings at the business but did not find any evidence that shots were fired in the resident's home.

Oak Forest police are still investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information to contact detectives at 708-687-1376.

Police Chief Jason Reid told Patch no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
