Oak Forest 'Church Ladies' Ready With Your Pierogi For Thanksgiving, Christmas Dinners

OAK FOREST, IL — Anyone looking for a special treat for their Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner tables, some local, self-proclaimed "Church Ladies" have you covered.

The “Church Ladies Test Kitchen” at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (15050 Central Ave., Oak Forest) is busy again gearing up for the 2025 Thanksgiving pierogi sale, and will have the pierogi ready in time for your holiday dinner. All the familiar flavors are back by popular demand.

The ladies will serve up a variety of flavors, all for $8 per 1/2 dozen. There will not be a pre-order option—it's first come, first served! Sale dates will be Saturday, Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23 from 12 to 2 p.m. Payment by cash, check, or Zelle only. The sale is sponsored by the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection to support the community's ministries.

"Whether you're craving a savory snack, a cozy side dish, or a crowd-pleasing appetizer, these pierogi from the 'Church Ladies Test Kitchen' never disappoint," the group touts.

The price has stayed the same—"no inflation here, just tradition and taste!"—and, returning for a second year, are homemade Kołaczki, buttery and sweet.

Don’t forget to stop by their bake sale table for even more delicious treats. Also specially offered this year are handmade fall and Christmas crafts.
