Oak Forest Diaper Pantry Seeks Collection Sites For Diaper Drive, Donations Of Diapers & Wipes

OAK FOREST, IL — An Oak Forest church and pantry that supplies diapers and wipes for families in need is seeking help from the community in collecting the items.

New Life's Little Lambs' Closet is holding a diaper drive now through Oct. 13, and is looking for locations willing to have a donation box placed on-site.

The box—a size of 2 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot—and a poster promoting the drive are provided. A volunteer from the church maintains the box, picking up donations on an as-needed basis.

The box will be picked up on Oct. 13. Anyone interested in serving as a drop spot should call Laura Lozano at 708-942-9357.

Operating out of New Life Community Church, 5333 W. 151st St. in Oak Forest, Little Lambs' Closet serves the communities of Oak Forest, Tinley Park, Midlothian, Crestwood, Alsip and Posen.

One in 3 families struggle with diaper needs, New Life said. Babies born into low-income families can spend extended periods of times in soiled diapers. Without a supply of diapers, babies cannot participate in early childhood education.

Diapers can also be donated at the following locations, with sizes 5, 6, and 7 the most needed currently.
