Oak Forest High School Madrigals To Have Fest, No Feast This Year
Guests are invited 'from the King and Queen' to the performance on Dec. 11 - 12.

OAK FOREST, IL β Oak Forest High School will host its famous Madrigal performance this holiday season, but will not be serving the accompanying dinner due to COVID-19 protocols, school administrators told Patch.
Tickets are on sale now for the event this weekend, which will be a performance of song, dance and acting as the Madrigals participate in a full costume reenactment of 16th century English partygoers.
"By order of the King and Queen, all are cordially invited for a night of beautiful singing and joyous merriment," the poster for the concert reads.

The show is in its 19th year, with the 17th annual performance selling out at the last live show. The performance is normally followed by a good ol' fashioned feast, but this year those in the audience will have to keep their masks on throughout the entire show.
Lincoln-Way East's Madrigal show also had to make adjustments to tradition to accommodate public health guidelines. The Frankfort school's 70 person choir ensemble still performed, but guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvre in the lobby prior to the show. The group also sent out recorded carols last year in lieu of a live performance.
