Oak Forest To Host Ceremony Commemorating 9/11 Anniversary
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. by the memorial display on the Oak Forest City Hall campus.
OAK FOREST, IL — The City of Oak Forest is inviting residents to attend a ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this Saturday.
The city, along with firefighters, paramedics, police department and veterans commission, will host a ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. by the memorial display on the Oak Forest City Hall campus, located at 15440 S. Central Avenue.
Neighboring towns such as Orland Park and Tinley Park are also hosting ceremonies in honor of the lives lost. The Orland ceremony will kick off at 10 a.m., at the memorial — located at 14700 Ravinia Ave., Orland Park.

Tinley Park is hosting a "patriot day" to remember the 2,996 victims of the attacks. The day will begin with a ceremony at 7:30 a.m. at Fire Station 46, located at 17355 S. 68th Court. The Austin Edwards Band will close out the day's events with a concert honoring first responders from 8 to 10 p.m. in Zabrocki Plaza.
