Oak Forest HS Senior Dedicated On Field, In Classroom: Star Student

OAK FOREST, IL — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Matthew is ranked 7th in his senior class (out of 401) with a 6.184 weighted GPA/ 3.974 unweighted GPA. Matthew doesn't just study—Matthew played soccer his Freshman, Junior and Senior years, basketball Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years, and track for all 4 years. In track, Matthew set a school record in the in 2022. Outside of sports, Matthew is involved in the Business Professionals of America (BPA), Mathletes and is a member of the National Honor Society. Even with so much going on, he is always in the crowd supporting his fellow students at basketball, football and volleyball games.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Matthew always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude.
