Oak Forest Man, 25, Killed By Falling Stone Slab At Factory

The accident happened at a South Holland factory Monday morning.

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL β€” A man who was killed Monday when a slab of stone material fell on him at a South Holland factory has been identified as a 25-year-old Oak Forest resident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

First responders were called around 11 a.m. to a business at 15527 S. LaSalle St. in South Holland. South Holland Fire Department officials called for aid from the Combined Agency Response Team, a group that specializes in complex rescue efforts. CART crews responding were told one or several pieces of stone countertop material had fallen on top of an employee, according to a CART team leader.

Alexander Kush, of Oak Forest, died from injuries sustained in the accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

An online search shows a business called Renovation Refined with a factory located at that address. The company is described as a design and build firm specializing in kitchen, bath, and interior remodeling. With its office based in Chicago, the business specializes in custom stone work, according to its website.
