OAK FOREST, IL β€” George C. β€œBud” Wagner, 84, of Oak Forest, Illinois, peacefully passed away on Nov. 15 surrounded by his family.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1939 to George and Margaret Wagner in Chicago, Illinois. After high school, he enlisted with the United States Marines Corps. Bud was very proud of his service. After the Marines and a brief stint as a volunteer firefighter, Bud was president of Sub Zero Refrigeration in Midlothian, Illinois, for over 40 years. He always approached business with a kind heart.

Upon retirement, Bud immersed himself in woodcarving, specifically old model cars. He frequented the Oak Forest McDonald's with his friends for coffee in the mornings. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his sister Beverly. Bud is survived by the love of his life for over 60 years, Sally. He also leaves behind brother Lee (Karen) of Georgia, sons Tim (Sue), Tod, and Ted, a granddaughter Cayla (Nick) and his faithful and loving companion, Bear the dog. Bud had a private service. To know Bud was to know kindness and compassion. He will be dearly missed.
