Oak Forest Mayor, Commissioner Host Holiday Turkey Giveaway

Mayor Henry Kuspa will join Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller to give out 200 turkeys to south suburban families.

OAK FOREST, IL —Oak Forest Mayor Henry Kuspa will be handing out turkeys to 200 south suburban families just in time for the holidays, officials announced Thursday.

The event will take place at Oak Forest City Hall this Saturday, Dec. 18. In addition to offering turkeys to families in need of assistance during the Christmas season, officials from Meridian Health will be on site to provide check-ups, vaccines and other services.

Turkeys will be distributed on a first come, first served basis to any families across the south suburbs. Residents who wish to participate will be limited to one turkey per household.

Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller will also be at the giveaway. Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, Miller told Patch families will have to stay in their cars while city officials deliver the turkey.

Turkeys will be given away starting at 11 a.m. at City Hall at 15440 South Central Avenue.
