Oak Forest Seeks New Code Inspector, Enforcer

OAK FOREST, IL β The City of Oak Forest is looking for a part-time code enforcement officer and apartment inspector. The position includes specialized tasks in enforcing code and ordinances.
The inspector will have to check for compliance, issue citations, make appointments, do liaison work, maintain records and other projects as assigned.
They require a high school diploma and the ability to use standard office software and technology. The city prefers applicants with three years of experience in enforcing and interpreting codes. Applications who've taken certain college courses will be preferred as well as those with Construction Journeyman status.

There are physical requirements for the job, but the city will make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. The inspector will be expected to stand, walk, use their hands, reach frequently, kneel, crouch, and occasionally move objects up to 50 pounds, and more. The inspector will be expected to be outside in the elements.
