Oak Forest Stabbing Victim Was Dedicated Single Mom: GoFundMe
Lauren Pikor was a single mom with an 8-year-old daughter, according to family. A fundraiser has been started to support her.
OAK FOREST, IL — The family of an Oak Forest woman found fatally stabbed Friday night outside her home have started an online fundraiser to support the daughter she left behind.
Lauren Pikor, 30, was killed Friday, August 4 in what police called a domestic incident, Oak Forest police said. Authorities late Saturday afternoon arrested Chad Oster in connection with her death, after Oster kept police at bay in an hours-long standoff. Oster was charged with first-degree murder on Sunday, August 6.
"Lauren Pikor was a loving mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend ... " family wrote in a Go Fund Me.

"Lauren was a dedicated single mother who worked hard and strove to be an amazing role model for her daughter. She excelled in her career, and her faith guided her throughout her life.
"She was loved more than words by so many. Her legacy lives on in her daughter and many lives she touched."

Police had not yet announced charges against Oster as of 6 p.m. Saturday.
