Tinley Park Police, Paramedics Rescue Woman Stranded In Home After Suffering Stroke
A well-being check was requested after the woman didn't arrive at work. Police found her on the floor, having suffered an apparent stroke.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park police and paramedics earlier this month came to the aid of a resident who had become trapped inside her home after suffering an apparent stroke, police said Tuesday.
Police responded at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 19 for a wellbeing check at a home in the 7300 block of Sandalwood Drive. The caller had told dispatch that the resident hadn't arrived at work that day, and wasn't answering her phone or doorbell, police said. Her vehicle was still in the parking lot, mail and packages were outside the front door, and the TV could be heard playing loudly from inside.
Police said they made multiple attempts to get inside the residence, and tried to contact family members to no avail.
