Oak Forest Woman, 97, Was 'Center' Of Large Family: In Memoriam

OAK FOREST, IL — Jeanne A. Walsh, age 97, of Oak Forest, died May 13, in the embrace of her seven children along with their devoted spouses and her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Walsh Sr. (for over 70 years); loving mother of Nancy Walsh, Thomas (Melody Cobleigh) Walsh Jr., Colleen (Len) Schultz, Patty Walsh, Kevin (Melanie) Walsh, Kathy (Matthew) McAlpine, and Dan (Nora) Walsh; proud grandmother of Lenny (Michelle), Mark (Colleen), Bob (Amy Kobel), Patrick, Dan, Kevin Mac (Lisa), Mary Kate, Maggie, Kelly (Tim), Kevin (Iris), Charlie, and Chloe; great-grandmother of Elin, Barrett, Lily, Cassidy, and Charlie; stalwart sister and aunt to the Doherty side of her family in Massachusetts, and friend to many. She lived a full, long, enviable life at the center of her large family, leaving a hole that they will do their best to fill in her honor.

Visitation and funeral services were held Thursday and Friday.
