24-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Near Cicero Avenue In Oak Forest

The shooting happened in the area of 167th Street and Leclaire Avenue, a few blocks west of Cicero, Tuesday night, according to police.

OAK FOREST, IL — A 24-year-old man was shot Tuesday near 167th Street and Leclaire Avenue, a few blocks west of Cicero, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 11:48 p.m. after reports of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, police found the 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Officers performed first aid and took the man to a nearby hospital for additional care, but he later died from his injuries, according to police.

Police aren't releasing 24-year-old's identity until officials notify his family. Police didn't share any additional information about the shooting.
