Project Fire Buddies Holds Summer Drive For School Supplies
Project Fire Buddies and the Oak Forest Fire Department holds a "Fill the Pack" Drive throughout the summer to collect school supplies.

OAK FOREST, IL — Project Fire Buddies and the Oak Forest Fire Department is holding a “Fill the Pack” Drive throughout the summer to collect school supplies for students next year.
According to founder Kurt DeGroot, about 200 students in the Oak Forest area begin each school year with no backpacks or supplies. Project Fire Buddies wants to change that.
The group will be collecting school supplies and backpacks (new and gently used) to help students start their school year off right with the supplies they need to be successful. The goal is to fill 20 backpacks for each of the 10 public schools in Oak Forest.
