Reward Offered For Man Wanted In Fatal Halloween Shooting: Feds

Police are searching for Jamil Hayes in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old on Oct. 31.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — Federal authorities and local police are looking for a 25-year-old Chicago man who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old woman in October.

According to police, Jamil R. Hayes got into a verbal fight with two women on Oct. 31 outside of SVN Live Bar. After becoming angry with them, officers said Hayes pistol-whipped one woman and then shot them both. One of the women, later identified as Morgan Brown, died from her injuries.

Hayes then fled the scene in a gray Nissan Altima. Since then, police have not been able to locate the man who was formally charged with murder and attempted murder on Nov. 3.

Brown's family is offering a $5,000 reward along with the FBI offering an additional $1,000 for any information leading to Hayes' arrest.
