Ricky's Ride Motorcycle Run To Raise Funds For Special Rec Association
The motorcycle run to benefit the South Suburban Special Recreation Association is set for Sunday, Sept. 15.

OAK FOREST, IL — A favorite motorcycle run to support a vital agency for special recreation opportunities for those with disabilities or special needs is revving up for its 17th year.
Ricky’s Ride was established in 2007 in honor of Ricky Schmidt, a long time participant of South Suburban Special Recreation Association (SSSRA). Ricky’s family and friends gathered together to organize a motorcycle run to raise money for SSSRA programs, special events, and SSSRA’s scholarship fund. Their efforts have raised over $220,000 for SSSRA families.
Ricky continues to participate in weekly programs and special events, and Special Olympics Bocce is his favorite activity.
