Riverdale Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Motorcycle Crash: Medical Examiner
The crash happened Friday just after 1 p.m., Cook County Sheriff's Police said.
OAK FOREST, IL β A Riverdale man has been ID'd as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash Friday afternoon on 159th Street, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday.
Shawn Varnado, 30, of Riverdale was died after the Friday afternoon crash at 159th and Ridgeland Avenue, when the motorcycle he was piloting was struck by a car, according to the Medical Examiner. The Cook County Sheriff's Office previously listed the man's age as 27.
At approximately 1:02 p.m. Friday, sheriff's police responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Ridgeland Avenue and West 159th Street. Responding officers learned a male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on 159th Street, when a vehicle traveling westbound crossed into his lane and struck him.

Varnado suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead while being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
One other individual was transported with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, as well.
