Services Set For Slain Beloved Oak Forest Woman, Single Mother

OAK FOREST, IL — Funeral arrangements have been set for the 30-year-old Oak Forest woman who was found stabbed to death outside her Oak Forest home Friday.

Visitation for Lauren Pikor will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8 from 3 to 8 p.m., at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. in Orland Park. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m., at St. Damian 5300 W. 155th St. in Oak Forest.

Pikor is described as a "loving mother of Eva," and "precious daughter of Damian and Maysoun Pikor." Family wrote in her obituary of her "unwavering dedication as a mother" that "was fueled by her deep love for her daughter and family, with her faith serving as a guiding light in her life."

Pikor was a single mother to her 8-year-old daughter, and a sister to Nicholas and twin to Christina.

Pikor was killed Friday, Aug. 4 in what police called a domestic-related stabbing. Authorities late Saturday afternoon arrested Tinley Park man Chad Oster in connection with her death, after Oster kept police at bay in an hours-long standoff. Oster was formally charged Sunday with first-degree murder. He was ordered held without bond.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started to support her daughter.

"Lauren Pikor was a loving mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend ... " family wrote in the Go Fund Me.

"Lauren was a dedicated single mother who worked hard and strove to be an amazing role model for her daughter. She excelled in her career, and her faith guided her throughout her life.

"She was loved more than words by so many. Her legacy lives on in her daughter and many lives she touched."
