OAK FOREST, IL — The city of Oak Forest has loosened a few restrictions regarding signage for local businesses. A newsletter from the Oak Forest-Crestwood Area Chamber of Commerce said Mayor Hank Kuspa did this in order to "assist the Oak Forest business community during these difficult times."

Several Oak Forest and Midlothian business owners have listed their information on an Oak Forest Patch business directory.

Changes include dropping the temporary sign permit requirement and typical display time restrictions, according to the chamber. There will also be additional flexibility when it comes to the use of banners, yard signs and a-frames on buildings or near the roadway.

"It is our hope that relaxing these regulations temporarily will assist both businesses and residents in communicating who remains open for business," the chamber wrote in their e-mail newsletter.
