Teen Fatally Shot In Oak Forest ID'ed: Medical Examiner

OAK FOREST, IL — A teen found shot behind a building Saturday afternoon in Oak Forest has been identified as a 17-year-old Oak Forest boy.

Tyonie Ashford, 17, of the 16000 block of Laramie, was found behind a building in the 15500 block of Cicero, police said Saturday. Ashford was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

The Oak Forest Police Investigations Unit and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the shooting as a homicide. Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Burnett at (708)687-1376.
