Yard Waste Collection Ends Nov. 30, Oak Forest Officials Warn
Just in time for snow, the last day to dispose of leaves, grass and branches will be Tuesday, Nov. 30.
OAK FOREST, IL — City officials reminded residents they will stop collecting yard waste starting Tuesday, Nov. 30. The service is only available seasonally when leaves, branches and grass clippings are commonly disposed of.
Those looking to have their yard waste picked up and disposed of can leave their waste in a brown paper bag or a 35-gallon garbage can with an added "yard waste only" sticker on the front. Residents who have large amounts of waste can rent a 95-gallon garbage cart from Homewood Disposal Service.
Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, branches and other organic material that are not rocks or dirt. If disposing of branches, residents should cut them into 3-4-foot-long pieces that are no wider than six inches in diameter.
