Another Aborted Takeoff at Midway Airport
Engine trouble forces Philadelphia-bound flight to stop on the runway Friday morning.

A Southwest Airlines jet aborted takeoff at Midway International Airport Friday morning due to engine trouble — the second aborted takeoff for Southwest this week.
The plane, bound for Philadelphia with 136 passengers, was on the runway at 6:30 a.m. when controllers in the tower and a pilot in another Southwest plane spotted smoke coming from an engine. The plane returned to the gate. A spokeswoman said the aircraft remains in maintenance.
Late Wednesday night, an engine fire in a Boston-bound Southwest jet forced an aborted takeoff.
