2nd Suspect In Sproat Avenue Home Invasion To Be Detained While Case Is Pending: OLPD
A second suspect, Alonzo Gause, 32, has been charged in the armed home invasion in May, OLPD said.

OAK LAWN, IL — A second man, believed to be involved in a Sproat Avenue home invasion in May, has been taken into custody on an arrest warrant, Oak Lawn police said. Alonzo Gause, 32, was charged with residential burglary and theft.
His purported cohort, Jamaal Stevens, 27, was taken into custody on July 8 and is currently being detained at Cook County Jail.
Both Gause and Stevens are accused of breaking into a residence May 7 in the middle of the day near 90th Street and Sproat Avenue while the homeowner was home. According to the homeowner, two masked men forced their way through his rear door.

When the homeowner confronted them, police said one of the pair pointed a gun at him, before both fled with stolen goods from the home. The suspects, eventually identified as Gause and Stevens, were seen fleeing in a newer black Ford Ranger.
The Ford Ranger was eventually found and seized through the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Unit.

Gause was arrested Tuesday in the 11500 block of South Aberdeen Avenue, Chicago, by the Chicago Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, who worked closely with Oak Lawn detectives, a news release said. According to OLPD, Gause has a history of robbery, assault and weapons offenses.
A judge ordered Gause to be detained at Cook County Jail during a pre-trial detention hearing Wednesday at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Gause is due back in court Sept. 22.
