Snag The New ‘Nashville’ and ‘Ranchy’ Smack Wraps Before They Fly The Coop
Get the 'Nashville' and 'Ranchy' Smack Wraps while they're hot at Fry the Coop before they fly away, available through Sept. 10.

OAK LAWN, IL — Diners are flocking to Fry the Coop to try the new Smack wraps, available at all ten locations for a limited time through Sept. 10.
The Nashville Smack wrap is a variation of Fry the Coop’s signature sandwich featuring a jumbo chicken tender with Coop sauce, coleslaw, and sweet and spice pickles. The “Ranchy” Smack is made with Fry the Coop ranch, American cheese, and iceberg lettuce. Both come wrapped in a flour tortilla and can be cooked to any level of hotness, including Country (no heat) to Li’l Insanity (it will set your mouth on fire).
The Smack wrap is the latest creation of Fry the Coop founder and owner, Joe Fontana, who fell in love with Nashville Hot movement while living in Los Angeles.

“I thought the food was amazing. It brings all these different cultures together,” Fontana told Patch in a 2017 interview, when he opened the original Fry the Coop in Oak Lawn. “I fell in love with the whole fried chicken thing growing up eating Brown’s chicken. The Crack Shack had a spicy sandwich. Howlin’ Ray’s was the first to bring Nashville hot to L.A.”
Fontana watched every YouTube video he could find that demonstrated the Nashville Hot method, until he perfected the menu and the sauces, and when to pull the chicken out.

“I think ma and pop businesses are the heart and soul of this country and the American dream,” he said. “You can open your own businesses and try, and succeed.”
