“Wicked Wednesday” Coming to Acorn to Oak Studios

Acorn to Oak Studios "Wicked Wednesday" offers area kids 11 and up a unique creative immersive evening Wednesday, Jan. 22.

OAK LAWN, IL — Acorn to Oak Studios is hosting a not-to-miss event that your pre-teen and teen will be sure to love, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. “Wicked Wednesday” is a unique, immersive creative craft night that is sure to make them forget the icy cold outside.

Kids will make a custom t-shirt, create a canvas painting, make a unique UV resin necklace and sing karaoke of their favorite songs. Kids will move from each project over a two-hour period and take home their treasures to enjoy forever and show their friends and family.

Wicked Wednesday is the brainchild of Andrea Zumhagen, who is president of Acorn to Oak Studios.

“This is the time of year when kids are looking for something fun to do with other kids. Wicked Wednesday will spark their creativity in new and interesting ways,” Zumhagen said. “Once the holiday decorations come down, everything can seem very blah. We want to create excitement and fun for teens and pre-teens.”

Acorn to Oak Studios is funded in part from a generous grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Illinois Arts Council. The community arts organization is an independent creative center in the heart of Oak Lawn, providing creative programming for all ages. Acorn to Oak Studios is located at 9411 S. 51st Avenue, Oak Lawn, in the north wing which was the former pre-school on the Pilgrim Faith campus.
