According to the sheriff's office, Alicia Gines was arrested near the intersection of Harlem and Archer. WLS reported Gines escaped out of her handcuffs around 10:40 p.m. Friday during an appearance at the courthouse for her arrest on a 2017 robbery charge.
According to the news report, Gines was put on the Cook County electronic monitoring program during October 2017, but failed to show up for her court appearance in September 2018 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was taken into custody on Thursday, WLS said.
She was captured on video surveillance after she escaped.
